Winchester M-21
This Winchester
M-21 is the result of a "better than new" factory restoration.
While both the metal and wood finishes are totally correct factory
Winchester finishes, the main difference is in the amount of care
we take with the gun, and the degree of preparation prior to the
finishing processes. All of the metal parts other than the barrels
are finished with Winchester Carbonia blue. Barrels are finished
using the traditional "English" style blacking process.
The wood finish is a Deluxe hand rubbed varnish oil finish. |
|
While the factory did a fine job with these guns,
better results are obtained through superior craftsmanship. These
were production guns and the workmen only had limited amount of
time to take on them. |
Finishing the wood is just as important
as the metal work. A proper wood finish must enhance
and protect the natural beauty of the wood.
